Championing the Stories of the South
Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) is an arts nonprofit that cultivates documentary media made in or about the South. We provide makers with diverse resources, including grants, fiscal sponsorship, mentorship, community awareness, education and training – all to champion Southern documentary and lower barriers to entry for new and emerging makers across the region.
OUR IMPACT
Our sponsored and grant-awarded films have been screened at festivals around the world, broadcast on PBS, Discovery, NatGeo, and HBO, and seen by millions of viewers online through platforms including Netflix, Amazon, and Apple TV.
