Divided We Stand

Determined to prove that there is hope for unity in a hyperpolarized America, French-American actress Audrey Hall attempts to bridge the divide within her politically fractured Kentucky family in the hopes of reuniting them for the first time in 20 years.

Synopsis:

In the wake of the Capitol insurrection, Audrey Hall returns from Paris to her divided Kentucky family to confront the political silence threatening to sever their bonds for good. With a bicultural lens and unshakable determination, she embarks on a years-long journey—one that begins with fragile one-on-one conversations and unfolds into a raw social experiment.

As tensions rise in both her family and the nation, hope for unity begins to fade. In a final effort to foster connection, Audrey draws on her acting background to prepare her relatives for their first reunion in over two decades—but will it be enough to bring them together?

Divided We Stand offers a necessary insight on how political rifts are affecting not only institutions, but also the social fabric of our lives. It dares to tackle the issue at its most intimate - and volatile - level: the family. It documents not just what division looks like, but what it feels like to repair it. It’s the journey of a family learning to fix the cracks, but it’s also an urgent plea for societal change, starting at the dinner table, in the childhood backyard, in the silences between the people we love. It explores whether love can outlast polarized ideology — and whether our differences, when met with empathy, might actually lead us home.
