The River
The River
THE RIVER will interweave three intimate stories of people hanging in the balance against the Corps’ ever-larger war to control the uncontrollable.
THE RIVER is an immersive, cinematic documentary about Louisiana’s dynamic and complex relationship with the Mississippi River. Through a combination of interviews and observational footage, the film will combine a range of perspectives along the River, weaving everything from heritage and cultural significance to engineering and global economic impact to land loss and environmental fallout — highlighting the massive importance of the River in the modern age. By taking a large-scale and layered approach, we aim to capture nuance and context that speaks to the river’s web of personal, cultural, environmental, and economic impacts, and how intricate the human relationship with this mighty force of nature is.Director | Caitlyn Greene
