The Last Saw Shop
The Last Saw Shop
In a rapidly consolidating industry, 83 year old Carra Blythe holds on to her logging supply shop, a pillar of her Northeast Mississippi community for over 40 years.
The Last Saw Shop explores the lives of forest workers in Northeast Mississippi. Through live-action and paper collage animation, the film reflects on the rise of the forestry sector in what was once row-crop farmland. Central to the film is Carra Jo Blythe, an 83 year old woman who sells logging equipment and chainsaw parts from a shop next to her home.
