Lady Aztecas

Lady Aztecas is a documentary series that explores and uplifts the legacy of the Mexican American community in Kansas City, Missouri, through the tradition of Mexican baseball leagues.
By reimagining the visual tropes of post-World War II baseball, the series aims to shed light on this unexamined history of sports, migration, and Mexican community in Kansas City, MO. Delving into the history of women’s fastpitch softball teams and Mexican immigrant culture, our episodic series highlights the strong female legacy of the Puente sisters, our director’s matrilineal family.
