Carter Country
Carter Country
Set in the small town of Plains, Georgia, “Carter Country” follows the unlikely rise of Jimmy Carter from a one-term governor to President, as seen through the eyes of his tight-knit community. This feature-length documentary explores the grassroots movement that turned Plains into the political epicenter of 1976.
Carter Country follows the two-year journey of America's most unlikely Presidential candidate Jimmy Carter and his small town that followed him every step of the way. This documentary seeks to capture the forgotten spirit of 1976, the last great Presidential election of the 20th century, when a small town in Georgia suddenly became the political capital of the world.
